Marina Lalatta Costerbosa is Professor of Philosophy of Law in the Department of Philosophy and Communication at the University of Bologna.
She has been a member of the Academic Senate and was a member of the Bioethics Committee of the same University for two terms. She is a member of the teaching board of the PhD programme in “Philosophy, Science, Cognition and Semiotics” at the University of Bologna and of the inter-university PhD programme in “Humanities, Technology and Society”.
Marina Lalatta came to the philosophy of law after a philosophical-moral path (Degree in Philosophy in Bologna) then a historical-political one (Doctorate in Turin).
Researcher in Moral Philosophy from 2001 to 2012; associate professor of Philosophy of Law from 2012 to 2017; she has been a full professor of Philosophy of Law at the University of Bologna since 2017.
Areas of research are law, in its most paradoxical expressions (Nazism, torture, etc.), bioethical issues such as justice for animals and the end of life, violence against children, rights between justifications and violations, some classical authors of legal-political and moral thought.
