Scientific investigations of archaeological and historical building materials for archaeometric purposes and to support restoration interventions. Use of scientific methodologies for the study of cultural heritage: technological knowledge of archaeological findings and objective evaluation of the state of conservation. Chemico-physical techniques for the characterisation of materials, knowledge of the production techniques and for provenance and dating analyses.
