Oral exam:

  • The oral exam consists of reading and translating passages from the exam texts, analysis, contextualisation, and discussion of the main themes in the two core texts, which must be read in full:

    • Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri (1999)

    • The Speckled People by Hugo Hamilton (2003)

  • Students may replace ONE of the two core texts with ONE of the alternative texts listed in the syllabus.

⚠️ Important: if you intend to replace one of the core texts, you must notify the lecturer by email at least 7 days before the oral exam date.

Notes, summaries, and annotations are allowed.

The written exam grade will be averaged with the oral exam grade.
