Mariangela Picciuolo holds a PhD in Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures from the University of Bologna, where she is an adjunct lecturer and coordinates the English-Medium Instruction (EMI) project at the University Language Centre (CLA). Her research lies within the field of applied linguistics and focuses on English-Medium Instruction, academic discourse, multimodal communication, corpus linguistics, and innovation in language education, with particular attention to the integration of artificial intelligence and Data-Driven Learning. She teaches English language, academic and specialised English, and English-language mediation. She has contributed to the design and delivery of professional development programmes for university lecturers as part of EMI research and development projects. She has published internationally and serves as a peer reviewer for scholarly journals. She also contributed to the development of the LILEC MOOC Diversity and inclusion.
