Graduated in Agricultural Science (BioTechnology) after a period of research at CSIRO in Sydney (Australia), he spent most of his career at the University of Udine, first as a researcher and then associate professor in the Food Sciences and Technology sector. Since 2000 he is Full Professor (SSD AGR15) of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna in Cesena headquarters. Member and
probiviro of SISTAL (Italian Society of Food Science and Technology) and the ISEKI Food Association; member of the Executive Committee of EFFoST (European Federation of Food Science and Technology). President of the Degree Councils in Food Technology , from 2011 to June 2018 he has been Director of the Interdepartmental Centre for Agri-Food Industrial Research (www.agroalimentare.unibo.it/en); on 2013 Chairman of EFFoST Annual Meeting and FoodInnova 2017. Author or co-author of a significant scientific production in 2014 was the winner of 'ISEKI Food Association Academy Award and is listed as a possible commissioner in the competitive sector 07 / F1. From December 2018 is President of the national coordination of the degree courses in Food science and Technology (COSTAL)
