What We Had in Common: A Public Archive of Charters of the Italian Commons
The Charters that regulated the governance of community commons in an Italian region (Trentino) are now available in a public archive called CARTEDIREGOLA.IT
The Economics Prize Winner Prof. Elinor Ostrom based her discoveries and innovative perspective on institutions on documents like these ones. She looked at some communities in Switzerland, but was unaware of the large presence of community governance also in Italy.
You can search among hundreds of community Charters and download the documents. The communities are localized on an interactive map, see below. The website is in Italian.
