Searching for candidates for Bachelor's and Master's theses in companies (Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence)

I am looking for thesis candidates for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science, Information  Science for Management, Artificial Intelligence or Computer Engineering to carry out project/research theses in a company (context of the themes between Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence).

The companies cover the territory from Bologna to Cesena.

If you are interested, contact me by email.

Some examples of possible thesis contexts include:

Logistics optimization in transport

Explore and implement optimization algorithms for transport planning, addressing complex problems that include multiple constraints and combinations of solutions. The goal is to find optimal strategies to improve logistics efficiency. The work allows to deepen aspects of operational research applied to real scenarios.

Optimization of industrial production processes

Study and develop algorithms to optimize the sequence of operations of industrial machinery, minimizing setup times and improving the efficiency of the production process. The thesis involves the creation of a scheduler capable of balancing production times with item constraints, offering opportunities for in-depth analysis of production optimization.

AI to optimize warehouse movements

Design and develop artificial intelligence algorithms to optimize the assignment of goods handling missions to a fleet of forklifts. The analysis will take into account variables such as the priority of operations, the position of the forklifts and the distances to be traveled. The project provides a solid basis for deepening optimization techniques and logistics management through AI.

Efficient storage in the warehouse

Design an artificial intelligence system to propose optimal storage solutions, based on updated stock data and sales forecasts. The system will be able to improve the overall efficiency of the warehouse, better managing incoming and outgoing flows. The project allows to address aspects related to internal logistics and warehouse management in an innovative way.

Natural language querying of an IoT platform with forecasting systems

AI platforms are increasingly used to improve productivity and gain insights from data. This thesis aims to develop a natural language interface to communicate with an IoT platform integrated with forecasting systems, allowing to answer practical questions about the future, such as cost or productivity estimates. The goal is to make the interaction with IoT systems more intuitive.

Generative AI for learning from different sources

Develop an intelligent agent capable of acquiring and understanding information from various heterogeneous sources such as manuals, release notes, technical documents and project analyses, in order to effectively and accurately answer complex questions posed by product specialists or customers. The thesis offers broad possibilities for exploration in the field of AI and enterprise knowledge management.

Localization in industrial environments with Bluetooth Low-Energy

Explore the use of Bluetooth Low-Energy technology for the localization of people and objects within industrial environments, with a focus on the development of low-cost and high-precision systems. The thesis offers the possibility of testing and integrating latest-generation devices and developing algorithms for real-time tracking, with practical applications in different industrial contexts.

Sensor-fusion for precise localization in the factory

Designing sensor-fusion algorithms to improve the accuracy of localization systems in industrial environments. The project combines absolute localization techniques, such as computer vision, with odometric approaches based on additional sensors, to counteract the negative effects of environmental factors. This work allows to explore advanced solutions to improve the accuracy of tracking systems.
