Curriculum vitae

Violinist and musicologist, former teacher of History of Music at the Conservatory of Bologna.
Since 1993 she has been teaching at the University of Bologna, first as an associate professor for Modern and Contemporary Music History, then (since 2000) as full professor of Music History and Pedagogy of Music. Since 2007 to 2018 she has been the Director of the Dipartimento di Musica e Spettacolo (since 2012: Dipartimento delle Arti) at the University of Bologna. Since 2008 to 2014 she has been sitting on the Academic Senate of the same University.
She is the general editor of the international musicological periodical Il Saggiatore musicale (Florence: Olschki, 1994ff.). She has organized international conferences on Musica urbana: il problema dell'inquinamento musicale (Bologna 2002; proceedings Bologna: CLUEB, 2004) as well as on Educazione musicale e Formazione (Bologna 2005; proceedings Milan: FrancoAngeli, 2008) and La musica tra conoscere e fare (Bologna 2008; proceedings Milan: FrancoAngeli, 2010). In 2011 she founded Musica Docta, an open access, peer-reviewed journal for Music Education. In 2012 she founded a Study Group of the International Musicological Society on “Transmission of Knowledge as a Primary Aim in Music Education”.
