Clinical Clerkship in Otorhinolaryngology

The one-week practical clerkship at the OU of Otolaryngology and Audiology resumes completely in presence, trying to provide the students a presentation as complete as possible of the care activities carried out at our OU.

The organization of the clerkship is described below:

Each student must attend the Otolaryngology and Audiology Unit - Prof. Presutti for 4 days a week (the fifth day is possibly used for recovery of absences). One day he will attend the Emergency Outpatient Clinic (Room 1 on the ground floor of Pavilion 5), one day the Divisional Outpatient Clinic (Rooms 3 and 4 on the same floor), one day the Operating Room (Plate B) and one day the Endoscopy (ENT Endoscopy, 2nd floor, not far from the ENT Library). The attendance of these spaces will be regulated by a schedule that each student will find in the Excel scheme forwarded to their attention. This scheme allows on the one hand the possibility for the student to adequately attend the facilities of the UO, but also on the other hand to avoid gatherings that are not relevant both for the student and for the spaces and other people (doctors and not) present there.

Each student, who will receive the notice via e-mail well in advance, must present himself punctually every day of presence in the ENT Library (II Floor of Pavilion 5) for acceptance and entry signature. He will go to the same location before leaving to affix the appropriate signature.

Rules of conduct envisaged for carrying out the practical internship:

During the practical internship, the student must maintain a behaviour and WEAR a decent and appropriate CLOTHING for the professional role for which she is being trained. The student is therefore required to:

  • follow the instructions of the facility managers and tutors;
  • come to the internship with a smock;
  • respect the entry and exit times and communicate any absences to the coordinating tutor of reference;
  • maintain fair and respectful relationships with everyone;
  • comply with company regulations and rules on hygiene, safety and health in the workplace;
  • comply with the confidentiality obligations with regard to data and information that have come to your knowledge.
  • PROHIBITION TO PHOTOGRAPH AND FILM DOCUMENTS AND PATIENTS

Access to the Operating Blocks of the University Hospital of Bologna, Policlinico S. Orsola Malpighi is allowed only using the special uniforms that are provided in the operating room (Plate B) but which must be worn by the student in spaces outside the operating room itself.

The teacher will remain available for any clarifications and explanations requested by the student.
