Curriculum vitae

Gian Gaetano Ferri was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1965.
He received the Bachelor of Medical Science degree (cum laude) from the Bologna University, Italy, in 1992.
Graduated (cum laude) specializing in Otorhinolaryngology at Bologna University in 1996.
Since 1998 he was Assistant Professor at the Department of Specialist Surgical and Anesthesiological Sciences of the Bologna University.
Since 1999 he works as otorhinolaryngologist at the S.Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital of Bologna.
Since October the 15th, 2014 he is Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental, Diagnostic and Specialty Medicine (DIMEC) of the Bologna University.
He is Professor of the University School of Medicine, Medicine and Surgery, of the Postgraduate Schools of Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oftalmology, Occupational Medicine and of the University School of Science in Nursing, all in Bologna.
His scientific activity is documented by many publications (121), many of them (60) published in peer-reviewed journals cited by Scopus and most of them are focused on audiological and otological topics. In fact, he is mainly interested in vestibular schwannomas, facial nerve paresis, intraoperative monitoring, otoacoustic emissions, inner ear pathologies and possible links with internal medicine diseases, vestibular physiopathology. Other actual biblometric data are: 816 citations and h index= 17 (Scopus).
Member of the Italian Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
