New series of Eurostat webinars
The new series of Eurostat webinars for young statisticians open to EMOS will be launched this autumn. This webinar series is organised as part of the European Statistical Training Programme (ESTP https://cros.ec.europa.eu/dashboard/estp-dashboard) and is entitled Selected Webinars for Young Statisticians. It includes five webinars, each lasting two hours.
Members of EMOS labelled universities can apply for participation in one or more of these webinars, by completing this form https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/EurostatWebinarsAutumn2026 by Friday, 14 August 2026.
The five sessions will take place as follows:
- Presentation of use cases from the ESS: Whole Population Network (Edwin de Jonge and Jan van der Laan, trainers from Statistics Netherlands), 15 September 2026 (14:00 - 16:00 CET)
- Who does what in the European Statistical System (Ana Carmen Saura Vinuesa, Ana Cánovas Zapata and Yolanda Gómez Menchón, trainers from INE Spain), 28 September 2026 (15:00 - 17:00 CET)
- Statistics produced by the ECB and other Central Banks (Ildiko Ritzl, Independent expert), 16 October 2026 (14:00 - 16:00 CET)
- Code of practice principle number 1 - independence: focus on democracy and official statistics as a public good (Jean-Michel Durr, Independent expert), 24 November 2026 (14:00 - 16:00 CET)
- Presentation of use cases from the ESS: AI & LLMs for Official Statistics (Luis Sanguiao Sande, Carlos Sáez Calvo, Sandra Barragán Andrés and Adrián Pérez Bote, trainers from INE Spain), 30 November 2026 (14:00 - 16:00 CET)
