Keywords: Root or memory tourism Local tourist development Climate change Environment conservation

Her research focuses on two topics: tourism and climate change. In respect to the first topic, she focuses on cultural and heritage tourism - namely memory and root tourism in the places connected to the slave trade in Africa, which led her to write a book in 2013, resulting from several fieldwork missions in Senegal and Mozambique, and to participate to several national and international conferences.

In the second field of research, she focuses on the nexus between climate change and mobility, both tourism and migration. In particular, she is a member of the International Cooperation Project “End Climate Change, Start Climate of Change #ClimateOfChange – A Pan-European campaign to build a better future for climate-induced migrants, the human face of climate change”, coordinated by Ngo We World-GVC, submitted to the Call “Raising public awareness of development issues and promoting development education in European Union (DEAR)”.
