Curriculum vitae

After a Master Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures and a PhD in Geography, she is now Associate Professor of Geography at the Department of History Cultures Civilizations of the University of Bologna.

Since June 2017 she co-ordinates the international project "Territories, Sustainability, University", in collaboration with the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, aimed at creating a Joint-Lab to study the territories and establish an international network between the University partners and with NGOs and territorial stakeholders, both in Italy and Brazil.

 

Since June 2017 she is also the President of the Associazione Insegnanti di Geografia (AIIG) Emilia-Romagna

 

Her research interests span from policies and strategies for climatic resilience and international climatic cooperation, transition towns and climatic resilience, to cultural and memory tourism, to tourism development connected to the heritage of the slave trade, to best practices for social integration and intercultural dialogue, to the didactics of Geography, to tourism-based local development and community-based and pro-poor tourism in Africa, to environment protection and community conservation strategies in sub-Saharan Africa. In relation to these research topics she has carried out several fieldwork missions in Senegal and Mozambique and has participated to several national and international conferences.

In 2013 she has published her first book: Tourism, memory and the slave trade.

 

She teaches Geography of Languages, in English, in the International Master Course “Language, Society and Communication of the School of Languages and Literatures, Translation and Interpreting; Geographies of global Challenges, in English, for the Curriculum in Global Cultures (inside the Master Course in Scienze storiche e orientalistiche,) of the School of Humanities; and Geografia dello sviluppo both at the bachelor level for the Bachelor degree Lingue Mercati e Culture dell’Asia of the School of Languages, and at the master level for the Master course in Geografia e processi territoriali of the School of Humanities, She has also kept several course of Geography and Economic Geography for the so-called Tirocini Formativi Attivi (Class A039-Gegrafia).
