Fixed term researcher (RTD B) of Organic Chemistry at the University of Bologna, Department of Chemistry “Giacomo Ciamician”, qualified as Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry (ASN2016/Iquad).
he research activity falls under the Green and Sustainable Chemistry, mainly in the field of the synthesis, properties evaluation and applications of alternative and safe solvents:
- design and synthesis of novel ionic liquids (ILs), deep eutectic solvents (DES) and switchable polarity solvents (SPS);
- assessment of environmental impact, (eco)-toxicity, citotoxicity and biodegradability of alternative solvents
- application of sustainable solvents as media for organo-catalysis and biocatalysis;
- application of sustainable solvents as media for extracting biomolecules from natural matrices: 3rd generation biofuels; bioactive compounds from terrestrial biomass, algae and corals; bioplastics from bacteria
- application of sustainable solvents as media for developing green processes in the fields of material recycling and cultural heritage
