The research areas addressed to date have covered various aspects of civil procedural law: from arbitration law and the European civil proceedings, to decision-making and appeals, and sports justice litigation. Recently, the area of research has focused on the enforcement proceedings.
With regard to the first field, on the one hand, the research dealt with the development of the institution of arbitration in the European legal system, in particular by delving into the interactions between arbitration and the application and interpretation of the EU law, on the other hand, it covered all the stages of arbitration proceedings from drafting agreements through to enforcement and recognition of arbitral awards.
With regard to the second, the research covered the basic operating principles and basic issues of court jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgments, service of documents, taking of evidence, closely intertwined with well-established rules in national legal systems by means of EU procedural Regulations, as well as the effects of the EU law on domestic procedural law (in particular, on the civil liability of magistrates).
With regard to the third, it focused on the Judicial reasoning and the review of judicial decisions by higher courts.
The fourth area dealt with Sports justice litigation and arbitration, highlighting its relationship with the State ordinary courts and focusing on arbitration as emerging tool in resolving legal disputes in the field of sport.
