- 2012-2015: Head of the dept’s Internship committee (for Forlì Campus), which organizes internships for about 250 students a year.
- 2008-2015: Elected representative on my Department’s governing body.

(iii) University of Genova: Faculty of Modern Languages and Literature
1999-2002: I was Director for the English dept. of the 3-year degree course in Translating and Interpreting. I coordinated a team of 12 teaching staff and was responsible for about 150 students.

4. EDITORIAL POSITIONS
(i) Routledge Research on Translation and Interpreting History Book Series
Since 2019: I am co-editor of the series with Michaela Wolf and Pekka kujamäki.

(ii) inTRAlinea
Since 2013: I am the Coordinating Editor of inTRAlinea (www.intralinea.org), the online translation journal of the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna. I have been a member of the Editorial board since 2004.

(iii) Chronotopos - A Journal of Translation History(ii) Chronotopos - A Journal of Translation History
Since 2017: I am Consultant Editor and member of the Editorial Board for Chronotopos, a newly-founded journal of translation history published by the Centre for Translation Studies, University of Vienna.

(iv) Letteratura tradotta in Italia
Since 2018: I am a member of the Editorial Board of "Letteratura tradotta in Italia", a new book book series to be published by Quodlibet, Italy.

5. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
My article "Theories and methodologies of translation history: the value of an interdisciplinary approach", The Translator, 2014, pp. 2-8, was listed by Routledge/Taylor & Francis as one of the "25 Most Read Articles in Languages and Linguistics" in 2014. The same article was made available on open access by the publisher as part of a 2015 selection entitled "What's Trending in Translation Studies".

6. RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND FUNDING
2010-2012: I designed and procured private funding for a research project at the University of Bologna into Quality Standards in Italian Television Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The research fellow was Irene Frosi. The project was funded by Colby Srl of Milan (www.sdhproject.net).

2004-06: I obtained funding from the University of Bologna for a 2-year research fellowship on Subtitling in Italy and parameters of Quality in Subtitling, which I coordinated (www.subtitleproject.net). The research fellow was Elena Di Giovanni.

7. TEACHING AND THESIS SUPERVISION
(i) In Italy
I have taught regularly as a tenured lecturer since 1999, first at the University of Genova and then at the University of Bologna. I have taught the following courses at both under and post graduate level:
- Translation from Italian into English
- Subtitling
- Translation theory

During this period I have supervised, or co-supervised, approximately 100 dissertations.

In the years 2003, 2009, 2010, 2012, I was the coordinator of the module on Subtitling for the Masters in Audiovisual Translation of the Department of Interpreting and Translation, University of Bologna.

(ii) Abroad
2017 - Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar: as Visiting professor I taught two courses on the use of CAT Tools.

2014 - Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar: as Visiting professor I taught two courses on Subtitling and on the use of CAT Tools.

2006-07 - University of Manchester, UK: as Visting lecturer I taught courses on Translation from Italian into English, Subtitling, and Italian literature.

2008-17 - University of Manchester, UK: as Honorary Research Fellow I have supervised 22 MA dissertations and co-supervised 1 PhD dissertation.
