Short Bio

Specialist in Iranian philology, linguistics, and religious and political history of Preislamic Iran.

Main scholarly interests: Avestan language and literature with its liturgical tradition (and its Pahlavi commentaries); Zoroastrian religious history and theology; intercultural contacts between Iran and its neighbours; history of sciences and pseudo-sciences in the East and in ancient Iran; ideology and sacred royalty in ancient Iran. Il Prof. Panaino riceve gli studenti tutti i giovedì tra le 11 e le 12 presso il Dipartimento di Beni Culturali, studio 4.04 (quarto piano) in Via degli Ariani 1, 48121 Ravenna.

Durante lo svolgimento dei suoi corsi nella sede di Bologna (Via Zamboni 33) il professore è disponibile a ricevere gli studenti anche prima e dopo le lezioni. Gli studenti sono gentilmente pregati di informarlo precedentemente via email.

Laureandi e dottorandi di ricerca possono fruire di sessioni di discussione mirate e personalizzate, che ovviamente devono essere concordate.

Il Prof. Panaino nei limiti del possibile risponde con la massima celerità alle mail degli studenti.

 

Prof. Panaino receives students all thursdays between 11 and 12, in his office at the Department of Cultural Heritage, in via degli Ariani 1, 48121, Ravenna.

During his classes in Bologna, he receives also students before and after his lessons, while in the course of the academic year he welcomes students also in occasions of the exames. Students are only kindly requested to inform him by mail in advance. Special and additional meetings are dedicated to students and young scholars preparing their dissertations, which must be fixed with mutual agreement in advance.

Professor Panaino usually answers students' emails as soon as possible.
