Professor Panaino normally meets his students on every Thursday morning at 11 in his office in the Department of Cultural Heritage, via degli Ariani 1, Ravenna. During the period of his classes in Bologna, he also receives the students after his lessons of Monday and Thuesday. For PhD students, and students writing the final dissertation it would be better to fix an appointment. The same is valid also for other students with special needs. After the conclusion of the Bologna classes, the students can meet the professor in his Department of Cultural Heritage in Ravenna, or in Bologna, or at his office in via Zamboni 33, in the local place of the DiSCI, before or after the sessions of his examinations. In any case, it is better to inform the professor in advance. It is clear that the students can ask for appointments in the offices of the professor or by means of teams and other electronic tools.

Title of these special lectures:

Aryans and Aryanity. on the Racist Manipulation of an Ethno-linguistical Category.

Dates: Monday 26, Thuesday 27, mercoledì 28 settembre 2022.

Hours: 10-12

Subject: The seminar will deal with the problem of the linguistic and philological origins of the term "Aryan" and its manipulations within the racist debate of the past two centuries between East and West. The first part of the seminar will concern the historical, philological and linguistical aspects of teh subject, while the second one will enter the history of the development of the racist manipulation of the term Aryan in Europe and the West, but also some other developments in the eastern societies.
