I have been teaching at the University of Bologna since 2013, where I was appointed Associate Professor in 2025 (previously Assistant Professor/Researcher). I obtained a PhD in "General, Historical, Applied, Computational, and Modern Languages Linguistics" from the University of Pisa in 2013, with a dissertation in English Linguistics. My research focuses on Critical Discourse Analysis, with particular attention to media discourse, metaphor, corpus linguistics, new technologies and language learning, and the stylistics of literary texts. I have published on these topics in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes at both national and international level.
My recent research interests explore crisis discourse metaphors, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in English as a Second Language teaching. I am the Bologna unit coordinator and a member of the Scientific Committee of the Interuniversity Centre for Research on Metaphors (CIRM), as well as a member of the Editorial Board of Metbib – Bibliography of Metaphor and Metonymy (John Benjamins Publishing Company).
