Short Bio

Antonella Luporini obtained her PhD in English Linguistics from the University of Pisa in 2013. Her past teaching experience includes lectures and courses, at both undergraduate and graduate level, held at the University of Bologna and the University of Pisa. She is a member of the LILEC Department's Center for Linguistic-Cultural Studies (CeSLiC), where she is currently carrying out a research project on software-assisted literary stylistics and its pedagogic applications ("SSS, the corpus, and the consumer"). She is also working on the impact of computer-mediated communication on L2 English teaching/ learning, as PI of the CeSLiC project "CO-METS". Her research also focuses on corpus-assisted metaphor studies and critical discourse analysis, with particular reference to the discourse of finance and economics: this is the topic of her PhD dissertation (honourable mention at the 2014 AIA-Carocci PhD Prize) and of her recent book "Metaphor in Times of Economic Change" (Aracne, 2019).

Office hours

ACADEMIC YEAR 2023/2024, SECOND SEMESTER

From February 12 onwards, weekly office hours will take place every Wednesday, from 4 to 6 PM.

Normally, office hours take place online, via MS Teams.

Students wishing to talk to me during office hours are kindly asked to get in touch to ask for an appointment.
