2011 & 2012: scholarship awarded by Regione Toscana/Provincia di Lucca (European Social Fund, Operational Programme 2007-2013) for the PhD research project Metaphor in Times of Crisis.

2014: AIA (Italian Association for English Studies)/ Carocci PhD Prize. Honourable mention awarded by the Committee for the doctoral dissertation Metaphor in Times of Crisis. Metaphorical Representations of the Global Crisis in The Financial Times and Il Sole 24 Ore 2008.
