He has been a member of the board of directors of the Association 'Il Saggiatore musicale', based in the Department of the Arts at the University of Bologna (via Barberia 4). The Association was established in the autumn of 1993 by Lorenzo Bianconi, Renato Di Benedetto, F. Alberto Gallo, Roberto Leydi and Antonio Serravezza as a 'free non-profit cultural institution'. It promotes cultural, publishing, educational and training initiatives in the field of musicology. She was also the head of the secretariat of SagGEM, Gruppo per l'Educazione musicale del 'Saggiatore musicale'. She is now a member and continues to collaborate on various initiatives.

The journal hosts studies in pedagogical and didactic-musical fields and publishes in Italian, French, English, Spanish and German. The name Musica docta alludes on the one hand to the appreciation of art music (without prejudice to other musical genres and traditions) and on the other hand to its transmission in the teaching experience.
