1) Mobile genome in human evolution
We analyze the role of "transposable elements", DNA sequences that can create copies of themselves and move from one position to another within the genome, in the evolution of our species and in the differentiation of human populations, including biomedical applications.
2) Genes-culture coevolution
We study the interaction between genes and culture by analyzing the effects of social-cultural variables on the structure and genetic diversity of human populations, both at a micro- and macrogeographic scales.
