Progetto REwaRd (H2020 SERA-TA)

The project REwaRd aims at proving the effectiveness of the Metabarrier: a metamaterial-inspired device designed to reduce low-frequency surface Rayleigh waves induced by natural and anthropic vibrations in large-scale structures and infrastructures.
The Metabarrier is constituted by an array of Resonators, to be placed within the ground around the structure, or a cluster of structures, purposely designed to interact with incoming Surface Rayleigh waves and to convert part of their energy in Shear Bulk waves.
