PhD position, Smart Structures Research Group at the University of Texas, Austin, US

The Smart Structures Research Group at the University of Texas, Austin is looking for excellent PhD candidates who wish to obtain a doctoral degree with the highest possible value for their career. Ph.D. students will address specific problems within the areas of structural health monitoring (SHM), nondestructive evaluation (NDE), ultrasonic sensing methods for smart structures, wave propagation in solids, digital signal/imaging processing and pattern recognition, dynamics and vibrations of structural systems, NDE for additive manufacturing. Ph.D. student candidates are expected to have a solid research experience in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have a M.S. or equivalent degree in Engineering. Compensation includes full tuition coverage and a competitive stipend.
