Alessandra De Cesare is Associate Professor at DIMEVET, is part of the group of experts of the panel on Biological Hazards of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and is vice-editor in chief of the Italian Journal of Food Safety.
Her main research topics concern shotgun metagenomic sequencing of food; evaluation and definition of new food safety criteria based on risk assessment; genotypic and phenotypic characterisation of bacteria foodborne pathogens.
