• Indigenous contexts in the Americas, with particular attention to the lowlands of South America

• History of indigenous movements

• Material culture in the Americas, with particular attention to women's weaving and ceramics

• “Indigenous art” in “traditional” American contexts and in contemporary art markets

• Education in indigenous contexts

• Legal anthropology in indigenous contexts of land claims

• Life and works of anthropologists who worked in the American context (e.g. Franz Boas, Claude Lévi-Strauss, Alfred Métraux, Curt Nimuendajú, Pierre Clastres, Erland Nördeskiold, Guido Boggiani)
