Research fellow

Department of the Arts

Short Bio

Yvonne Huetter-Almerigi is a trained literary scholar and philosopher and her major research interest is the intersection of Philosophy, Literature, and Cultural Theory, with a particular focus on concepts of subjectivity and agency. Currently, she is working on a new concept of realism that tries to forge theories of truth with theories of action. The project is collocated at the border between philosophy of language and political theory. In the past, she has worked on topics in Romanticism, Modernism, and Postmodernism, conceptually focusing on the intersection of determinism and freedom, ethics and aesthetics, irony, and poetic justice.

Before coming to Bologna, she was postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, visiting lecturer at the Inter University Centre in Dubrovnik, and research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Mind in Nature in Oslo. Currently, she is Marie-Skłodowska-Curie-Fellow with the Horizon2020-MSCA-IF-2018 Project RELEVANT REALISM, Grant agreement n° 832636, under the supervision of Sandro Mezzadra and Bjørn Torgrim Ramberg.
