Vincenzo Stanghellini

Professor Vincenzo Stanghellini graduated cum laude from Bologna Medical School, Italy, in 1978 Research Fellow at the Gastrointestinal Unit of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. In 1994 he became Chairman of Gastroenterology at the University of Pavia and, in 1997, he returned to the University of Bologna where he is currently Professor of Internal Medicine, Chair of Internal Medicine and Chief of the Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Laboratory at the University Hospital St. Orsola-Malpighi.

Author of > 1500 scientific articles ( > 300 indexate su Pubmed. impact factor > 1500 HI > 50 ) .

Winner of Master Award for sustained achievement in digestive sciences of the American Gastroenterological Association in 2009 .
