(2017-2019, H2020). She is responsible for the University of Bologna of the EU project CLARA - Climate forecast enabled knowledge services
(2017-2020, H2020). She collaborates with several foreign research institutes including Stanford, TU Delft, and the Weizmann Institute of Science. In 2017, she won the first ALMA IDEA Grant Contest of the University of Bologna.

Valentina Ciriello is Assistant Professor of Hydraulics at the University of Bologna since 2013. Her research interests include hydrology, fluid mechanics, water-energy-agriculture nexus and urban hydraulics. She also has strong experience in risk and sensitivity analysis, meta-modelling and optimization. She joined Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2011, and University of California - San Diego in 2014, in the role of Visiting Researcher.
