Short Bio

Dr. Susanna Villani is Research Fellow in EU law at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna and currently works within the EU funded project “ClimateofChange” dealing with the nexus between migration and effects of climate change.

Adjunct Professor for the course of EU Internal Market and International Trade Law (Master’s degree in International Politics and Markets – A.Y. 2021/2022) at the Forlì Campus of the University of Bologna.

Member of the Editorial Staff of European Papers and SIDIBlog.

(2018-2019) Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Bologna – Department of Law. Jean Monnet Network LAwTTIP – Legal ambiguities withstanding TTIP. Supervisor: Prof. Federico Casolari. Title of the research project: “Human rights and judicial protection in EU trade agreements”.

In 2018, she got the PhD in EU law at the University of Bologna in co-tutorship with the National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid. PhD thesis title: ‘The concept of solidarity within EU disaster response law. A legal assessment’.
