Researches on fruit tree breeding and biotechnology

In particular, the main researches are related to:

-          Identification of markers linked to important phenotypic traits like resi stance to pathogens and fruit quality traits in apple, pear, peach and apricot.

-          Construction of molecular maps in fruit tree species (apple, pear, peach and apricot)

-          Genetic analyses for Quantitative Trait Loci identification in fruit trees

-          Development of marker-assisted selection strategies (MAS)

-          Identification, cloning and characterisation of scab resistance genes in apple

-          Genetic transformation for pathogen resistance

-          Molecular characterization of fruit quality traits by candidate gene mapping

-          Molecular characterisation of apple allergens (allergen mapping and expression)

-          Apple and Sweet cherry breeding
