Simone Tuzza

Short Bio

He holds a Ph.D. in Criminology from the Université de Montréal and is a researcher in Sociology of Law and Deviance at the University of Bologna. His research primarily focuses on police studies and the sociology of policing, with particular attention to the relationship between policing institutions and political authorities. His more recent research interests include intimate partner violence within the LGBTQI+ community, environmental victims, and cultural criminology. He has participated in several national and international research projects. He collaborates with the International Centre for Comparative Criminology (ICCC) and serves as an honorary judge at the Juvenile Court of Bologna. He is a member of the scientific committee of the Rivista di Criminologia, Vittimologia e Sicurezza and of socio-criminological book series, and sits on the editorial board of the International Journal of Law and Society. He is also affiliated with national and international academic associations, including the Association Internationale des Criminologues de Langue Française (AICLF) and the European Society of Criminology (ESC).
