Education

He holds a 2-year MA in Modern Philology with Distinction from the University of Bologna and a 2-year MSc in Education for Sustainable Development from Göteborg Universitet, Sweden, where he received the highest grade (A) for his thesis entitled "Rethinking Teacher Education through Global Citizenship Education. A Groundbreaking Approach to LGBTQIA+ Inclusion in an Italian Context", an interview study of newly qualified teachers. 

He also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with QTS in Latin and Classics from the University of Sussex, as well as a Teacher Training Qualification in Secondary Literary Disciplines from the University of Bologna. The PGCE qualifies him to teach in the UK, while the latter enables him to teach in Italy.

Secondary Teaching Positions

He has been teaching in secondary schools since 2017, both in England and Italy. Over the years, he has served as a class coordinator and acted as deputy for his school’s Anti-Bullying and Emergency team, focusing specifically on addressing LGBTQIA+ (cyber)bullying. He has also represented his school on the committee for the prevention of gender-based violence and discrimination.

Awards, Scholarships, and Funding

  • Three-year PhD Scholarship (40th cycle): Funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region within the framework of research training projects on the Sustainability and Resilience of Society, Communities, and Territories (2024).
  • British Council Grant: Awarded as part of the Stronger Together: Leadership for Gender Equality Project, supporting social action projects promoting gender equality. The project is part of the British Council's regional Youth Leadership programme and is supported by the global Alumni UK programme (2024).
  • PGCE Bursary: Awarded by the Department for Education (DfE), UK (2017).
  • Three-month Erasmus+ Scholarship: For work experience at the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin, Ireland, awarded by the University of Bologna, Italy (2017).
  • Nine-month Erasmus+ Scholarship: For academic exchange at the Department of Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, awarded by the University of Siena, Italy (renounced, 2015).
