Curriculum vitae

Simone Garagnani graduated in Architectural Engineering at the University of Bologna, where he attended Ph.D. School with fellowship at D.A. (Department of Architecture); he developed a Ph.D. research entitled: "Digital Models and Design Archives - Integrated systems aimed to architectural documentation".


At the Faculty of Engineering he teaches and tutors in the Drawing, Survey, Virtual Modeling and Computer Graphics courses. He is assistant professor at D.A. (Silab laboratory) and he has recently been Visiting Scholar at the EECS department of UC Berkeley (USA) in order to improve his skills in laser scanning survey and digital modeling. He is also holder of an engineering practice in Bologna, where he works as a professional, collaborating with several architectural and engineering firms all over Italy, developing three-dimensional analysis models, virtual CAD settings and renderings.
From June 2012 to February 2014 Simone Garagnani was researcher at the Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research (CIRI), developing software and db methodologies BIM-related.
Since March 2014 Simone Garagnani is Research Unit Coordinator in the FIR (Future in Research) project entitled "Kainua. Restituire, percepire, divulgare l'assente. Tecnologie transmediali per la città etrusca di Marzabotto".
