Simone Donati is a work and organizational psychologist. He obtained his Ph.D. in Social, Developmental and Organizational Psychology from the University of Bologna. At the same university he later worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Psychology within national PRIN and PRIN-PNRR research projects and European projects funded under the Horizon Europe programme.
During his academic career he has been involved in several national and international research projects, contributing to research design, development and validation of research instruments, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of scientific results.
His research interests mainly focus on team processes, shared leadership, diversity in work groups, employee well-being, temote and hybrid work in teams and organizations, and recovery processes in contemporary work environments. Over the years he has developed collaborations with international research institutions, including a research period at the Universitat de València (Spain) supported by the Marco Polo international mobility programme of the University of Bologna.
He teaches at the University of Bologna as an adjunct professor in courses related to work and organizational psychology, human resource management, diversity management, and soft skills development in both undergraduate and graduate programmes.
Alongside his academic work, he is active as a trainer and organizational consultant in the field of organizational development and human resource management, focusing on training activities, competence development, and analysis of organizational processes. He is also involved in public engagement and dissemination activities on topics related to work, organizations, and skills development. In 2017 he received the Best Work and Organizational Psychology Paper Award from the Italian Psychological Association for the best article published by a non-tenured early career researcher.
He is member of the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology and the Associazione Italiana di Psicologia (AIP)
