Professor Cosma’s Bio
Simona is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management (DIS) of the University of Bologna, holding a national qualification as a full professor since 2018. At the University of Bologna, she teaches risk management, economics of insurance companies and financial instruments and markets. Her research interests are in risk management of financial institutions, sustainable corporate governance and sustainable finance. She has taught for many years as an Affiliated Professor at the SDA Bocconi School of Management (Banking and Insurance Department) in Milan, Italy. She is the author and co-author of many books and articles in national and international academic journals, including Social Science and Medicine, Energy Economics, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Environmental Management, Economics Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of Management & Governance. She serves as an independent director at BPP (Banca Popolare Pugliese), a large regional bank in Italy, where she is also a member of the risk committee and the Board of Directors’ representative for corporate sustainability/ESG. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors of Monrif, an industrial and media holding company listed on the Milan stock exchange. She holds a PhD in banking & finance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She won several research awards.
