Archaeologist specializing in the Islamic period, with particular expertise in material culture studies and the application of archaeometric methods. She has over a decade of fieldwork experience in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and has also participated in archaeological missions in Iran and Kuwait.
She is an Adjunct Professor and Research Fellow at the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna (Department of Cultural Heritage) and serves as Deputy Director of MiSAK, the Italian Historical and Archaeological Mission in Kurdistan (ISMEO – in collaboration with the Kurdish Institute of Rome).
