Curriculum vitae

Junior assistant professor (fixed-term) at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, she conducts her research in the field of architectural and urban composition. Her research interests focus in particular on urban form in relation to territorial elements, the design of public space, urban regeneration processes, the enhancement of architectural and cultural heritage, and collaborative practices in the transformation of the contemporary city.

 

Education
She graduated in Architecture in 2008 from the “Aldo Rossi” Faculty of Architecture at the University of Bologna. In 2018, she obtained a PhD in Architectural and Urban Composition from the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, within the framework of a co- supervision agreement with the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá campus. Her doctoral dissertation focused on modern architecture in Colombia and the European contribution, with particular attention to the work of the Italian architect Bruno Violi in Bogotá.

Academic career
From 2020 to 2025, she was a Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, taking part in nationally and internationally relevant projects on cultural heritage, urban regeneration, public space, communities, and digital systems for the knowledge and enhancement of the built environment. Since 2025, she has been a Junior assistant professor (fixed-term) at the Department of Architecture at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, in the academic discipline CEAR-09/A Architectural and Urban Composition.

Teaching activities
From 2019 to 2025, she taught as an adjunct professor at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna, where she was responsible for the modules “Architectural Design 1” in the International Master Degree Programme in Architecture and Creative Practices for the City and Landscape, and “Analysis of the City and Territory” in the Single Cycle Degree Programme in Architecture. She also taught “Analysis of the Built Environment” in the Second Cycle Degree Programme in Advanced Design of Services at the University of Bologna, and “Architecture and Architectural Composition” at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia.

She is currently responsible for the module “Forms of Collective Space” within the Graduation Lab “Projects for the Great City. Berlin 2050” and for a course in Architectural and Urban Composition within the educational activities of the PhD Programme in Architecture and Cultures of the Project at the University of Bologna. She has also gained extensive experience as a teaching tutor and as co-supervisor of master’s degree theses.

Scientific activities
She has participated in numerous national and international research programmes, including H2020 4CH – Competence Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, PON-IDHEA, Horizon Europe WeGenerate, Horizon Europe SAFE-CITIES, European Urban Initiative TALEA, the OBRAS project, the BO2ND Bologna-Bogotá project, H2020 ROCK, H2020 SPEME, and the Villes Minières du Maroc project.

Her research activities concern architectural and urban design, strategies for the regeneration of public space, cultural heritage, participatory processes, and Colombian modern heritage. She is the author of numerous scientific publications, takes part in national and international conferences and seminars, and contributes to the organization of design workshops, dissemination activities, exhibitions, and cultural initiatives.

Institutional activities and academic appointments
Within the research projects in which she has participated, she has held responsibilities for the preparation of scientific reports and the coordination of Work Packages. She has collaborated in the organization of seminars, conferences, international workshops, and training activities recognized within the doctoral programme. She was a member of the scientific and organizing committee of the international symposium “CARE: Cities as Creative, Crises-Responsive Environments. Towards a Common Manifesto of Innovative Solutions for the Contemporary City” and chaired a thematic session.

Membership of scientific committees and editorial activities
She has participated in scientific and organizing committees for academic and seminar initiatives related to urban design, the regeneration of the contemporary city, and the transformation of public space. She has also contributed to the curatorship of exhibitions, the drafting of scientific materials, and the preparation of publications connected to national and international research projects. 

Other activities
Alongside her academic work, she has carried out professional activities as an architect, taking part in ideas and design competitions, developing architectural and urban projects independently, and collaborating with professional practices, public administrations, and research groups. She is registered with the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the Province of Forlì-Cesena.
