Serena Baiesi

I am Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Bologna where I teach British Romanticism. I am also the vice-director of CISR (Inter-university Centre for the Study of Romanticism), and the coordinator of the PhD program in Languages, Literatures and Cultures: Diversity and Inclusion at LILEC.

My research interests include Romantic poetry, women novelists (Jane Austen, Maria Edgeworth, Mary Shelley); historical drama; political writing (Leigh Hunt); Gothic literature; and slavery literature. I also work on Victorian-period consumer literature. My current research concentrates on Leigh Hunt and the Italian context with special attention to the periodical The Liberal. I am interested in Ecocriticism, Ecofeminist and Gender Studies.
