Sebastiana Nobili specializes in 13th- and 14th-century Italian literature - particularly the works of Dante and Boccaccio - as well as in early 20th-century fiction and theatre.
She serves on the editorial boards of the journals Studi e Problemi di Critica Testuale, Studi Danteschi, and Dante. She is also a member of the Governing Board of the Biblioteca Classense Institution, the Dante Studies research group within the Department of Cultural Heritage, and the Scientific Committee of the International Dante Conference, which takes place biennially in Ravenna.
At the University of Bologna, from 2017 to 2019 she was a member of the Research Quality Assurance Board by appointment of the Rector. In the following two-year term, she was appointed to the University’s Teaching Observatory. She is currently Full Professor of Italian Literature at the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ravenna campus) and a member of the University Quality Board for Doctoral Studies.
Since 2023, she has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Commissione per i Testi di Lingua and to the Scientific Council of the Società Dantesca Italiana.
