Academic Career

  • 2016: Full Professor (area SPS/09 - “Sociology of economic processes, work and organizations”) at the University of Bologna, School of Political Science Forlì Campus, Department of Sociology and Business Law  
  • 2011: Associate Professor (area SPS/09 - “Sociology of economic processes, work and organizations”) at the University of Bologna, Roberto Ruffilli Faculty of Political Sciences Forlì, Department of Sociology.
  • 2000-2010: Assistant Professor (area SPS/09 “Sociology of economic processes, work and organizations” at the University of Bologna, ‘Roberto Ruffilli' Faculty of Political Science, Forlì, Department of Sociology.
  • 1998-2000: Post-PhD fellowship in the field of Legal, Political and Economic Sciences for a research project on the topic of: “Precarious employment and the Italian welfare state. Analysis to define more effective active labour policies”.
  • 1994-1997: PhD in ‘Sociology and Social Policy' at the Department of Sociology of the University of Bologna.
  • 1988-1993 studied Sociology at the University of Bologna.

  • Member of the executive committee of the International Centre of Sociological Studies on Work (C.I.Do.S.Pe.L., http://www.cidospel.com) and part of the board of the Journal “Sociologia del lavoro” ("Sociology of work").
  • Member of the Executive Committee of Sisec (Società Italiana di Sociologia Economica).
  • Member of the Executive Committee of a group of academic experts within the Alma Mater Foundation, University of Bologna, on the topic: "Another welfare?"

- “Determinants of Retirement Decisions in Europe and the United States: A Cross-National Comparison of Institutional, Firm-level and Individual Factors”, coordinated by Dirk Hofäcker, University of Mannheim, Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES); 

·         Social Expert for FRA (The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights);

- Fieldwork researcher:  “Severe forms of labour exploitation”, FRA (The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights) E.U. (2013-14).

·         “Action Citoyenne: une étape vers l'égalité durable”, European Union, “Socrates –Grundtvig” Programme, European Cooperation Projects in Adult Education;
