  1. Roman maritime villas: survey and architectural analysis of the different models built along the Tyrrhenian coast of southern Latium; drawings and plans investigation of the different architectural typologies developed in the Mediterranean basin; identification of regional variations and prevailing trends over time, socio-economic reasons behind specific design options; production of drawings and plans, digitisation and georeferencing of the pre-existing plans.
  2. Topography and archaeology of the ancient landscape: analysis of the dialogue between architecture and the environment; study of the overuse consumption of the coastal Mediterranean landscape; exploitation of natural resources; ancient landscape and environment transformations; GIS and maps; survey; archaeology of architecture and stratigraphy of elevated structures (analysis of the building materials and construction techniques).
  3. Natural sciences: investigation of the overuse of water in domestic architecture and possible water recycling measures adopted in the Roman world.
  4. Archaeology of production and trade: production activities attested in roman maritime villa; role of the private harbours and exchange of goods in Mediterranean Sea.
  5. Virtual Archaeology: 3-D modelling of archaeological features, eg. villas and man-made fishponds.
  6. Ancient aquaculture: reconstruction of the original design (2-D and 3-D) of man-made fishponds built along the Tyrrhenian coast of southern Latium and typological comparisons with the rest of the Mediterranean settings; quantifying the potential production capacity of the tanks and the costs for labour for their construction.
