1. Cultural Studies of Nature: imaginaries, valorization, and practices of relating to nature within everyday urban contexts. In this field, she has previously studied practices and conceptions of nature in the context of urban gardens, urban natures as commons, and is currently conducting research on urban wilderness, namely the wild nature that emerges and develops in cities as a contested domain of cultures and practices.
2. Cultural Studies of Media Narratives: media stories and images provide symbolic resources for the production of individual experience and culture; dominant narratives shape audiences’ experiences by enabling or constraining ways of thinking and feeling. Within this perspective, she has conducted a study on representations of femininity and female power (Grandi madri mediali, 2023) and a study (with S. Antonioni, F. Pasquali and S. Brancato) on representations of loss and mourning in Italian and international fiction.
3. Consumption Practices and Environmental Sustainability: study of the role of consumption — its practices and objects — in the construction of culture and meaning. More recently, her focus has been on understanding the marginalization of environmental issues in contemporary culture and its effects, as a new perspective on the theme of sustainable consumption.
