Rino Ghelfi
was born in Crevalcore (Bologna - Italy) on 12th of May 1958.
Bachelor degree in agricultural science in 1983.
Since 1991
he is chief of the Agricultural Accounting Office at the
University of Bologna (Agricultural
Faculty). Since 2001 he is Associate Professor in Agricultural
Economics at the Department of Agricultural Economics and
Engineering of the University of Bologna (Faculty of
Agriculture) and in 2004 was confirmed as Associate Professor. His
main fields of teaching are Farm Accounting, Farm Management,
Agribusiness management & Finance, System Organization and
Human Resource Management.
The
scientific activity is characterised by the participation in
research projects funded by different organizations such as the
European Union, the Ministry of University and Research, M.P.I.,
M.U.R.S.T., C.N.R., I.N.E.A, Emilia-Romagna region and other
Italian regions. He took part in the scientific committee which designed the
Rural Development Plan of the Emilia-Romagna Region (Regg CE
1257/99 e 1750/99; Regg CE 1290/05 e 1698/05).
The main
research topics cover farm management, the competitiveness of the
agri-food sector, evaluation of the economic impact of agricultural policies
and labour
economics. The results have been presented in
over 150 publications.
He is a
member of the main national and international associations in the
sector of agricultural
and environmental economics.
He is a
promoting partner of ERGO Consulting s.r.l. – Alma Mater
Studiorum's spin-off –
a company established in order to utilize and transfer the
socio-economic study results and to promote the University
technological know-how regarding the rural territory.
