Curriculum vitae

Full Professor of the University of Bologna. The main concerns both in teaching and research are focused on aquaculture, animal nutrition and production, food quality.

Education

Laurea Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1990. PhD in Animal Production Science. Since 1995 to 1998 Researcher at the University of Bologna in Animal nutrition and Feeding. Since 2000 to 2010 Associate Professor on Animal Nutrition and Feeding. Since 2010 Full Professor in Aquaculture.

Teaching activity

Since 1996 teacher at different Laurea and Laurea Magistrale degrees, Master activated by the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences. Director of a Master  between the University of Bologna, University of Parma, University of Teramo in “Improvement and safety of fisheries and aquaculture products”. Scientific Director of an International Course in “Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in the Mediterranean”. External examiner in PhD final examination in Aquaculture to the University of Stirling (Scotland)

Scientific activity

Responsible in several reaserch projects supported by private or public Institutions.

Active cooperation with the following International Institutions:

Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling (Scotland);

Artemia Reference Center, University of Gent (Belgium);

The Netherland Institute for Fisheries Research (Netherland);

Nutreco Aquaculture Research Center (Norway);

 

Publications

Authors and coauthors of about 140 publications on national and international scientific journals, books and proceddings of national and international congresses.

Main issues are: aquaculture, animal nutrition and feeding, quality of animal product.
