Curriculum vitae

Associate professor in the Department of the Arts, University of Bologna, pianist and harpsychordist, his research interests are primarily linked to Musical dramaturgy, Libretto philology, Pedagogy and didactics of music.

 

Training

Degree in Classical Literature at the University of Bologna (2003), degree in Piano in the Conservatory of Ferrara (2005) and in Harpsychord in the Conservatory of Bologna (2010), PhD in Musicology and Musical Heritage at the University di Bologna (2007), post-doc at Yale University (2009).

 

Academic carees

In 2008-2010 and 2012-2013 è was research fellow in the Department of Music and Performing Arts (then Department of the Artsi) of the University di Bologna, later in charge of several teaching and tutorial assignments.

In 2015 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification to Associate Professor.

He is Senior Assistant Professor L-ART/07 (Musicology and History of Music).

 

Teaching activity

From 2005 to 2017 he has been in charge of numerous teaching and research assignments within the degree in DAMS and Music, Arts and Drama Studies (Musical Appreciation, Pedagogy of music).

In 2016/2017 he was in charge of the second module of History of Music II (18th-Century).

In 2017/2018 he teached Elements of Musical Education in the degree on Speech and Language Therapy (University of Bologna).

He organizes seminars and workshops on his own disciplines.

He teaches Musical Dramaturgy in the degree on Music, Arts and Drama Studies.

 

Scientific activity

He takes part in several national and international research projects. 

In 2011 he was research fellow in the Fondazione Ermitage Italia (Ferrara), working on a project about the works of the Italian composer Alessio Prati.

In 2013-2015 he was research fellow in the Fondazione 1563 per l'Arte e la Cultura (Turin) and the Department of the Arts (Bologna) about Filippo Juvarra's Opera Productions in Rome.

He's member of the IMS - International Musicological Society, and he collaborates with the Study Groups on Transmission of Knowledge as a Primary Aim in Music Education and Cavalli and 17th-Century Venetian Opera.

 

Membership of scientific and editorial committees

Member of the editorial board of the journal "Il Saggiatore musicale".

Member of the editorial board of the online journal "Musica Docta".

Member of the editorial committee of the series "Francesco Cavalli - Opere" (Kassel, Baerenreiter).

Referee and co-editor (with Giuseppina La Face) of a series of musicological teaching applications on the journal "Nuova Secondaria".
