This approach to the literary text is meant to investigate language in its cultural context of creation.

2. 3. l language and the relationship between image and language in an interdisciplinary perspective. This includes and compares a semiotic approach (Pierce), a post-structuralist one  (Barthes), multimodality (G. Kress e T. Van Leeuwen) and cultural  (J. Hillis Miller e W.J.T. Mitchell). This hybrid methodology has been applied to a variety of analyses: from book illustrations to photographs dating from the end of the Nineteenth Century to the post-war period
