Maria Letizia Guerra is associate professor at the Department of Statistical Sciences "Paolo Fortunati", her research interests concern mathematical models for uncertainty and their economical and financial applications.
EDUCATION AND POSITION
She graduated in Mathematics in 1991 at the University of Bologna, she obtained the doctorate in Computational methods for Economics and Financial Forecasts in 1997 at the University of Bergamo and she studied abroad at Paris VI and at the Newton Institute of Cambridge.
From 1999 to 2005 she was researcher at the University of Urbino and then she moved as an associate professor to the University of Bologna.
She got the full professor "abilitazione" for the academic sector 13/D4 (5/2/2014 e 08/10/2018).
TEACHING
From 2005 she teaches in bachelor and master courses within the academic sector Mathematical Methods for Economics and Finance. Today she teaches Mathematics within the international bachelor, Mathematics for Social Sciences within the international master and Matematica.
RESEARCH
The first papers about stochastic modelling were published in European Journal of Operational Research and Journal of Banking and Finance, later the reserach was devoted to mathematical models for uncertainty based on fuzzy logic and papers are published in Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Soft Computing, Information Sciences, International Journal of Approximate Reasoning and Axioms (open access).
SERVICE
From 2021 she is the Rector's delegate for public engagement
From 2021 she is a member of the giunta of the Department of Statistical Sciences.
She is a member of the AQ committee within the international master in Tourism Economics and Management and the bachelor in Finanza Assicurazione e Impresa.
She was a member of "Osservatorio della Didattica" in the period 2018-2021.
She is the coordinator of the counsellor and job orienting activities in Rimini Campus.
She is a board member of ParliamoneOra UniBo.
