Michele Mellara

Professor at the University of Bologna since 2014, conducts his research in the field of documentary with a focus on contemporary production.He works as a film-director and screenwriter for many documentaries, shorts and feature lengh movies. His movies and documentaries have been to innumerable festivals receiving awards broadcasted by many TV Channels, and have been released on Home movies both in Italy and abroad. With his first feature lengh movie , "Fortezza Bastiani" (“Fort Bastiani”), he received the Solinas Award and the David Donatello nomination as "Best Debut".
He was co-founder of the documentary association of Emilia Romagna (DER), head of the national documentary association (doc.it), founder of the production company Mammut Film.
