The research topics are remote sensing, topography, geodesy, map editing, and geospatial analysis in a GIS system.

In particular, I deal with:

  • Analysis, comparisons and integration of multiscale digital data, acquired by satellite and/or UAV multispectral and RGB optical cameras.
  • Vegetation monitoring through multispectral remote sensing data and vegetation indices analysis (crops and natural environments such as pine forests and dunes).
  • Simulation of future scenarios to predict the effects related to the introduction of new elements within natural or urban areas. This activity uses classification, change detection and change prediction methods. Furthermore, integrating GIS techniques helps the synergic insertion of all the information that cannot be obtained directly from digital data (coastal dunes monitoring and the silver fir in the Apuan Alpe monitoring).
